Our Beginnings
Women in CBE was founded in 2021 by the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering (CBE) Committee on Diversity, Equity, Climate and Inclusion (DECI) to address the barriers towards academic and professional success of women. The group aims to address this goal by fostering an inclusive environment, building leadership skills and confidence, and providing mentorship within the department and greater community.
Our Committee Members
Committee Chair
Gracyn Reynolds
Graduate Student in Prof. Richard Register's lab
Gracyn's research in the Register lab seeks to understand the structure-property relationships of E-CO copolymers for applications in multi-layer films.

Social Coordinator
Hailey Tanner
Graduate Student in Prof. Cliff Brangwynne's Lab
Hailey's is interested in understanding how proteins aggregate and ultimately lead to neurodegenerative diseases. She is working to define and distinguish biophysical frameworks underlying intracellular liquid-solid phase coexistence.

Social Coordinator
Kelly To
Undergraduate Student
Kelly is interested in any food science related research!

Outreach Coordinator
Ananya Chakravarti
Graduate student in Prof. Jerelle Joseph's lab
Ananya's research involves using computational thermodynamics and physics-based methods to understand the mechanisms of biomolecular condensates and designing modifications to control cellular responses with applications in disease and aging.

Outreach Coordinator
Danielle Sclafani
Graduate student Prof. Sujit Datta's lab
Danielle is interested in how nature-like environments affect bacterial communities. She is studying how the spatial structure of bacterial collectives affects predation by bacteriophages.

Luncheon Coordinator
Le (Lesley) Lu
Graduate Student
Lesley is interested in inorganic perovskite solar cells.

Spotlight and Newsletter Coordinator
Emily Wang
Undergraduate Student
Emily's research interests lie generally within biomaterials. Her senior thesis focuses on the assembly pathways and aging behaviors of stress granules, and she is also interested in pursuing translational research in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine after Princeton in graduate school.
Webmaster
Hannah Snider
Graduate student in Prof. Marcella Lusardi's Lab
Hannah is interested in the synthesis and characterization of environmentally beneficial catalysts, particularly zeotype structures, along with studying reactions engineering and reactor design.

Faculty Advisor
